Mediacciona, mediación ambiental
MEDIAƆCIONA tiene, todavía, mucho de proyecto. Detrás hay un equipo de profesionales especialmente interesado en difundir la temática de la mediación ambiental, crear una red de mediadores ambientales y poner en marcha servicios de mediación ambiental. Este blog es un modo de compartir la experiencia y poner a disposición de otras gentes los logros y avances que vamos realizando en el proyecto.
Quienes impulsamos esta iniciativa, conscientes de lo novedoso de la temática, nos hemos planteado que durante un periodo, no inferior a tres años, es imprescindible realizar una serie de actividades encaminadas a dar a conocer la temática, visibilizar los espacios en los que la mediación ambiental podría ser especialmente oportuna y propiciar la formación específica en la materia, paralelamente a la generación de una demanda de dichos servicios. Proyecto PORTA, política integrada de transporte y planificación territorial
El proyecto PORTA, financiado por el Programa MED de la Unión Europea, parte del contexto actual donde las terminales portuarias no son sólo el espacio donde tiene lugar la carga y descarga de mercancías, sino que constituyen infraestructuras clave en el desarrollo socioeconómico sostenible de las regiones marítimas, y no solo de las ciudades portuarias, al ser las puertas de acceso al interior de la región.
Con el objetivo de establecer un nuevo sistema de directrices y recomendaciones que permitan a las autoridades públicas integrar la gestión de las instalaciones portuarias dentro de las políticas urbanas, PORTA pretende contribuir a solucionar la dicotomía entre la expansión del puerto y el desarrollo urbano de las ciudades y regiones a las que pertenece. En él participan socios de 5 países mediterráneos.
El Proyecto PORTA fue ideado por la Universidad de Catania, quiénes junto con FEPORTS (líder del proyecto) y la Autoridad Portuaria de Catania diseñaron la propuesta final, en la cual se incluyeron socios de Grecia, Eslovenia y Francia.
El objetivo de PORTA es el de definir una política integrada de transporte y planificación territorial a partir del estudio de los puertos mediterráneos como “puertas” clave a través de los cuales acceder a la región. Para ello, los socios diseñarán e implementaran una serie de medidas que faciliten los agentes socioeconómicos involucrados en la toma de decisiones una solución integrada a la dicotomía entre el desarrollo urbano y el portuario. EMMA Embracing the Modernization Agenda for he Universities
On 20 September 2011, the European Commission published the Communication ‘Supporting Growth and Jobs – an Agenda for the Modernisation of Europe’s Higher Education Systems’. The document clearly states what are considered the main challenges that need to be addressed: Increasing the attainment levels to provide the graduates and researchers that Europe needs. Improving the quality and relevance of higher education. Strengthening the quality through mobility and cross-border cooperation. Making the knowledge triangle work: linking higher education, research and business for excellence and regional development. Improving governance and funding.
The EMMA partnership interprets the Communication as an invitation to launch an in-depth debate on those policy issues that need to be tackled in response to the challenges above. A debate that can only result fruitful if the higher education institutions, main stakeholders (employers, students) and authorities (Bologna Follow Up Group, European Commission, national/regional administrations) are all involved.
All through the project implementation, a much needed hands-on approach towards the subject matter will be adopted: What can we undertake?, How can we react in the most appropriate and efficient manner to the current challenges imposed by both the crisis and globalisation?, What can the European Higher Education Area mean for the future of Europe when it comes to supporting growth and jobs?
The EMMA multi-stakeholder partnership is composed of one of the leading university networks (CGU -Compostela Group of Universities), an employer organization (VOKA – Vlaams Economisch Verbond), a student association (EMA – Erasmus Mundus Student and Alumni Association) and an experienced private organization in the promotion of inter-university cooperation and university-society relations (BES – Brussels Education Services) [+]
View on EU. A Visual Easy Window on Europe
View on EU – A Visual Easy Window on Europe is a project co-financed by the European Commission in the framework of the Jean Monnet Programme. The aim of the action is to make the history of European Integration and the spirit of the Treaties comprehensible and accessible to young students so to favour a sense of belonging to the EU.
The idea arose from the collaboration among the University of Bologna – Department of Politics, Institutions and History, the Municipality of Pianoro – Ufficio Politiche Giovanili and the no-profit association Scomunicati, a team of trainers experts in visual and participatory methods.
Twelve workshops are organised for students aged 11 to 13 years, for a total of 260 pupils involved. The approach will guarantee active participation of pupils with the use of the innovative method of participatory video. At the basis of the action there’s the belief that awareness rising at an early stage is a fundamental goal for the construction of a conscious and responsible citizenship. [+]
Proyecto emiDel, desarrollo local y emigración en América Latina
Desarrollo local y emigración en Latinoamérica (emiDel) es un proyecto financiado por la Unión Europea a través del Programa Urb-Al III creado con el fin de fortalecer los procesos de cooperación descentralizada en el ámbito de las políticas urbanas.
El proyecto está liderado por el Ayuntamiento de Hospitalet de Llobregat-España en asociación con tres Gobiernos Locales Latinoamericanos: Gobierno Municipal de La Paz-Bolivia, La Intendencia Municipal de Canelones-Uruguay y la Alcaldía Municipal de Santa Tecla-El Salvador conjuntamente con la Diputación de Barcelona. Además el proyecto cuenta con una entidad colaboradora, la Federación de Asociaciones de Municipios de Bolivia que permitirá la extensión e implicación de los municipios de sus ámbitos territoriales en las actividades y resultados del proyecto.
El proyecto Desarrollo local y emigración en Latinoamérica (emiDel) tiene como prioridades dotar a tres Gobiernos Locales Latinoamericanos ubicados en Santa Tecla, Canelones y la Paz, de mecanismos e instrumentos que impulsen el desarrollo económico local y las iniciativas emprendedoras en su zona. Para lograr este objetivo se fomentara modelos de buenas prácticas en la región que vinculen la aportación de la migración al desarrollo local en sus comunidades de origen por medio de las remesas y proyectos emprendedores (Coodesarrollo).
El proyecto EMIDEL tiene entre sus principales beneficiarios a todas aquellas personas que reciben recursos económicos procedentes de sus compatriotas que han emigrado, así como los mismos emigrantes que tienen previsto regresar a su lugar de origen o que están organizados en colectivos y plataformas de representación. Evidentemente, también son beneficiarios de esta iniciativa los gobiernos de La Paz, Santa Tecla i Canelones. Pero también se benefician aquellas ciudades receptoras de inmigración que cuentan con experiencia e instrumentos en estrategias de desarrollo local, cuyo claro ejemplo es la ciudad de L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. Y por lo tanto, también recibe el impacto positivo de estas acciones la ciudadanía que reside en municipios con importantes flujos migratorios. [+]
Proyecto RESSOC, recogida de residuos municipales en URB-AL III
El proyecto RESSOC, coordinado por el Área Metropolitana de Barcelona, ha logrado reconvertir la recolección informal de residuos de tres territorios latinoamericanos en una salida laboral formal y sostenible Los principales resultados e impactos alcanzados por RESSOC están recopilados en unas fichas elaboradas por la Oficina de Coordinación y Orientación (OCO) de URB-AL III con el objetivo de visibilizar y difundir el trabajo desarrollado en el marco de este programa de cooperación descentralizada de la Comisión Europea.
El proyecto RESSOC, que concluirá sus actividades en el marco de URB-AL III el 30 de junio de 2013, ha trabajado durante más de cuatro años para potenciar la cohesión social mediante la integración de los sectores que subsisten con actividades informales relacionadas con los residuos. El proyecto se ejecuta en San Salvador y su Área Metropolitana (municipios de Apopa, Ayututexpeque, Cuscatancingo y Mejicanos), El Callao (Lima, Perú) y Managua (Nicaragua). Además, tiene como socios acompañantes al Mairie de Toulouse (Francia) y a la Intendencia Municipal de Montevideo (Uruguay).
RESSOC, con alrededor de 27.036 beneficiarios, ha logrado la creación de 21 microempresas o cooperativas, que han dado trabajo a más de 300 recicladores. Además, se han construido infraestructuras como una red de eco-estaciones, una planta de selección y transferencia de recursos, dos ressourceries, una red de compostadoras, huertos urbanos y puestos de venta de los nuevos productos.
El proyecto ha alcanzado acuerdos con diferentes agentes públicos (administraciones de diferentes niveles de gobierno) y privados (asociaciones empresariales, universidades y organizaciones de la sociedad civil) que garantizarán la sostenibilidad de los resultados alcanzados. Además, en cada territorio se han desarrollado diversas acciones formativas y se trabaja para la creación de redes de empresas RESSOC que garanticen su viabilidad cuando concluya el proyecto.
Entre los principales impactos alcanzados destaca la inserción en el mercado laboral de los recolectores informales, con énfasis en las mujeres, y el aporte de de un modelo de circuito integral de residuos sólidos urbanos a las administraciones locales participantes que contribuya a impulsar nuevas políticas públicas que mejoren la cohesión social de los territorios. FIN-EN, instrumentos financieros en el marco de los Fondos Estructurales
FIN-EN project, implementing financial instruments in the framework of EU Structural Funds
FIN-EN project aims at enhancing co-operation between regional and national authorities across Europe on the methodologies and instruments used for implementing Financial Engineering operations without the European Investment Fund in the framework of EU Structural Funds. The main goal of FIN-EN is to set up a wide and stable network where to discuss each phase of financial engineering operations’ implementation and the underlying financial instruments in order to find concrete solutions to similar problems.
13 project partners, each representing a different Region and Member State, discuss the obstacles and challenges in implementing such financial instruments without the European Investment Fund, in order to learn from each other and formulate simplification proposals for future implementation in the next programming period. EM-iDEA - Bringing the Erasmus Mundus community together to Disseminate, Exchange and Act
This project has recently been approved by the European Commission’s Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) under Erasmus Mundus Action 3: Promotion of European higher education. The project will run from the 1st September 2011 until the 31st August 2014.
With this project, we wish to create conditions such that the Erasmus Mundus (EM) community at large can jointly exploit, explain and discuss its involvement in the Erasmus Mundus programme, so as to find ways to strengthen and improve it. The project will target the following categories of persons and actors of international cooperation in higher education. These will benefit from the project directly or indirectly, as mentioned:
• EM coordinators: academic and administrative staff from the EU and from third-countries (directly)
• Coordinators of international cooperation programmes, from the EU and from third-countries (directly)
• HEI representatives, from the EU and from third-countries (directly)
• Students and doctoral candidates, from around the world (indirectly)
• Policy makers, from the EU and from third-countries (indirectly)
The project's main geographical targets outside Europe are: Africa, Northern and Latin America, and Europe's neighbouring countries. [+]
Mobile Business Cloud Application Platform
MobiCloud is an EU funded project to develop a European Corporate Appstore
Many of us use 'cloud computing' every day without even realising it. Web-based e mail and social media sites such as Facebook and Spotify all use the technology to store data such as pictures, videos and text files. But what exactly is 'the cloud'? Even many people who have heard of the concept aren't always sure about what it involves.
Cloud computing relies on sharing computing resources rather than having local servers or personal devices to handle applications. In cloud computing, the word cloud (also phrased as "the cloud") is used as a metaphor for "the Internet," so the phrase cloud computing actually means "a type of Internet-based computing," where different services - such as servers, storage and applications - are delivered to an organisation's computers and devices through the Internet. The files are stored in massive data centres containing hundreds of servers and storage systems that are compatible with nearly all computer software. When you wish to access your information, you simply connect to the 'cloud' from your PC, smartphone or tablet.
The advantages are numerous. Users for example don't have to buy or maintain expensive servers and data-storage systems. For corporations, the technology helps them lower their costs by reducing the need for in-house IT support and extra office space.
The European Commission's Digital Agenda is the EU's strategy to help digital technologies, including the internet, to deliver sustainable economic growth. The reduction in the cost and complexity of mobile application development using cloud technologies is one of the objectives of the European Commission. The 4.45M Mobicloud project, co-funded under the ICT Policy Support Programme (PSP) Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP), aims to do just that.
The project's objective is to stimulate the provision of new mobile services in the cloud and help support the emergence of a European ecosystem of mobile cloud application developers. With MobiCloud, it will become feasible for smaller companies, and not only global enterprise resource planning vendors, to quickly develop and market mobile extensions of their existing business applications. The Commission therefore aims to enable and facilitate faster adoption of cloud computing throughout all sectors of the economy. This will have the knock-on effect of cutting ICT costs, and boosting productivity, growth and jobs when combined with new digital business practices.
MobiCloud will become an online technology marketplace where end-users, mobile developers, application vendors, system integrators and cloud service providers can collaborate to develop end-to-end solutions with high return on investment (ROI). This collaborative platform will develop, deploy and manage mobile cloud applications for business-critical scenarios such as public transport, field service or construction. Its initial demonstration scenarios focus on industries where collaborative mobile applications can support a more efficient, greener organisation. It provides a composite screen (mobile mash-up) that aggregates data from various corporate IT systems. Depending on context (location, role, skill set, available colleagues, etc.) the application displays different services which react in real-time to changes (work orders, fault reports, alerts). [+]

A European Network of Local Partnerships for the Advancement of Youth Employment and Opportunity.
The project seeks to ensure that today’s youth become effective and successful members of tomorrow’s workforce, thereby making our economies more dynamic, innovative and competitive, and ensuring the sustainability of our way of life.
Youth unemployment and inactivity is an enormous structural problem across Europe; moreover, too much of what employment there is for youth is of low quality, precarious and leads nowhere. These problems have been drastically worsened by the current economic crisis, which has disproportionately affected young people; in some parts of Europe youth unemployment has reached catastrophic levels. This project seeks to address structural youth unemployment and poor employment, by establishing Local Partnerships for the advancement of Youth Employment and Opportunities, driven by city administrations, of local stakeholders, to advance youth employment and opportunities, as an approach to the development and maintaining of a competitive and sustainable local economy and social model.
